Exchange Session of Workshop for ASEAN Officials on Digital Economy Standardization Held at ICDPASO

Beijing, November 19, 2025 - The Workshop for ASEAN Officials on Digital Economy Standardization visited the Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO). The event was attended by 38 international officials from trade, communications and standards departments of seven countries, including Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iraq, and Nepal.


The event was presided over by Ms. YANG Zhaoying, Deputy Director of the General Affairs Department of ICDPASO. Mr. Jason CHIA, Secretary-General of ICDPASO, delivered a welcome address. Starting from ICDPASO’s positioning as a non-governmental international organization, he outlined ICDPASO’s core mission and strategic direction, covering its governance structure and membership system. Based on an introduction to the features of ICDPASO’s rules, he demonstrated the operation and advantages of ICDPASO’s one-stop dispute prevention and settlement mechanism to the participants. As a Category A liaison organization to four ISO Technical Committees, including Assurance of Transaction Process in E-commerce, Circular Economy, Sharing Economy, and Governance of Organizations, and as a member of the Business 20 (B20) Integrity & Compliance task force, ICDPASO is actively engaged in practices that advance the formulation of international rules and the standardization in related industries.



Mr. YAO Xin, Secretary-General of CCPIT Commercial Sub-council, delivered a substantial presentation on international standardization in the era of digital economy. He systematically introduced the basic structures and functions of BSI, ICC and ISO, providing an in-depth analysis of the current state of development of the international standard system. Through typical cases in sharing economy and digital marketing, he elaborated the formulation processes and global practices of relevant international standard proposals.



This exchange activity effectively enhanced the participants’ understanding and recognition of ICDPASO’s unique role as a non-governmental international organization in the formulation of innovative rules. It will promote more practical cooperation in joint rule-making and mutual standard recognition, facilitating regional legal integration and the connectivity of economic and trade rules.
