ICDPASO Secretary-General Invited to Attend International Law Forum on International Order and Multilateralism Development Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations

Beijing, November 8, 2025 – The International Law Forum on International Order and Multilateralism Development, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, was successfully convened in Beijing. Hosted by the School of International Law /School of Foreign-Related Rule of Law at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), this forum aims to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the development of international order and multilateralism, foster academic consensus within the international legal community, explore future pathways for multilateralism, and conduct in-depth research on academic issues across numerous fields including public international law, private international law, and international economic law. Mr. Jason CHIA, Secretary-General of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), was invited to attend and deliver a keynote speech at the Private International Law Sub-Forum on “Dispute Resolution and Global Governance”and the Fourth International Mediation Forum.


Secretary-General Jason CHIA delivered a presentation entitled “Dispute Prevention and Resolution from the Perspective of International Organisations”, elucidating the pivotal role of dispute prevention and resolution mechanisms within global governance. He emphasised that in an increasingly complex international environment, an effective mechanism for preventing and resolving commercial disputes is crucial for enhancing the stability and predictability of the global business environment and upholding the multilateral trading system. In his address, Secretary-General Jason CHIA shared how ICDPASO places “dispute prevention” at the start through rule innovation, capacity building and platform development, thereby providing diversified solutions for “dispute resolution” and fulfilling the responsibilities of international organisations in improving the global governance structure. Speaking on behalf of ICDPASO, Secretary-General Jason CHIA put forward three initiatives: firstly, to deepen cooperation with university think tanks, government agencies, legal organisations and international bodies to jointly build a stable and predictable international commercial governance ecosystem; secondly, to strengthen the cultivation of talent in foreign-related legal affairs, breaking down barriers between theory and practice; and thirdly, to welcome active participation from all sectors in ICDPASO's international activities.


This forum brings together experts and scholars from various industry units, including government institutions, international organizations, intergovernmental legal organizations, law schools of universities, judicial agencies, legal service institutions, law firms, and corporate legal practice departments. The attending representatives conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on multiple important areas, including "Community of Shared Future for Mankind and Global Governance" in the field of international public law, "Dispute Resolution and Global Governance" in the field of private international law, and "Multilateralism and Global Governance" in the field of international economic law.
