ICDPASO Secretary-General Attended 2025 China–South Asia Southeast Asia Commercial Legal Cooperation Forum

Time:2025/10/16 BJT

Kunming, October 14, 2025 - Mr. Jason CHIA, Secretary-General of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), was invited to attend the 2025 China–South Asia Southeast Asia Commercial Legal Cooperation Forum held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. The forum was jointly hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Yunnan Sub-Council, the People's Government of Kunming Municipality, and the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Under the theme "Deepening Commercial Legal Cooperation for Shared Regional Economic and Trade Prosperity," the event brought together representatives from authoritative institutions and experts in the commercial legal fields of China, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.

In his address, Secretary-General Jason CHIA spoke on improving the one-stop dispute resolution service system. He emphasized that as regional economic and trade cooperation continues to deepen, establishing a professional and efficient mechanism for preventing and resolving commercial disputes has become a crucial safeguard for promoting regional economic and trade prosperity. The rule of law, he noted, serves as both a solid foundation for advancing regional economic and trade cooperation and an effective barrier against various cross-border economic and trade risks. Against the backdrop of profound changes in the international economic and trade landscape, ICDPASO remains committed to optimizing rules alignment, institutional innovation, and service enhancement to provide enterprises in the region with full-chain legal services spanning dispute prevention, mediation, and arbitration. As a professional international organization, ICDPASO will continue to promote the mutual recognition and coordination of commercial legal rules in the region, advance the improvement of diversified dispute resolution mechanisms, and contribute to building a stable, transparent, and predictable regional business environment, thereby offering stronger legal safeguards for economic and trade cooperation between China, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
