Legal-Enterprise Salon - “New Trends in Arbitration, Mediation, and Commercial Dispute Resolution” Successfully Held

Beijing, July 31, 2025 - The legal-enterprise salon themed “New Trends in Arbitration, Mediation, and Commercial Dispute Resolution” was held at the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO). The event was hosted by Dongcheng District Bureau of Justice of Beijing Municipality, organized by Dongcheng Lawyers Association, and co-organized by ICDPASO Secretariat.

Mr. LONG Haitao, President of Dongcheng Lawyers Association, Ms. LI Li, Deputy Director of Dongcheng District Bureau of Justice of Beijing Municipality and Mr. Jason CHIA, Secretary General of ICDPASO, attended this event and delivered opening remarks. Mr. LONG Haitao expressed that Dongcheng Lawyers Association would collaborate with ICDPASO to leverage Dongcheng District's resource advantages, promoting the innovation and development of commercial dispute resolution mechanisms, including mediation and arbitration services. Ms. LI Li pointed out that this event represents a significant practice in addressing the legal needs of companies in their overseas expansion and optimizing the business environment. She also expressed expectations that the legal-enterprise salon would safeguard corporate development through professional services and improve business environment through legal means. Mr. Jason CHIA introduced the unique advantages and the concept of dispute prevention of ICDPASO and expressed his willingness to cooperate with the institutions in Dongcheng District in providing professional commercial legal services for enterprises. Mr. HE Haifeng, Director of the Academy of Commercial Arbitration and Mediation, stated that the academy would cooperate with ICDPASO to enhance regional capabilities for commercial dispute resolution.

In the keynote speech session, Ms. LU Fei, Director of the Business Development Department of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and Mr. ZHANG Haoliang, Director of the Business Development Department of Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC), shared the arbitration and mediation rules of CIETAC and BAC respectively. Mr. WANG Jinghao, Case Manager of ICDPASO, introduced the features of one-stop dispute resolution from the perspective of an international organization and the advantages and practices of ICDPASO in the prevention and efficient settlement of international commercial disputes. Mr. Zhang Qi, Partner of Merits & Tree Law Offices and Ms. Zhang Lifang, Head of the Dispute Resolution Department at Beijing PanHui Law Firm, expressed their ideas on professional development.
