ICDPASO Secretariat Contributes the Establishment of Legal Escort Alliance for IP Overseas Expansion

Beijing, May 23, 2025 - The Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) was invited to participate in the special activity “Law Nurtures Dongcheng” themed public legal service. As one of the initiating units, The Secretariat of ICDPASO endorsed the establishment of the Legal Escort Alliance for IP Overseas Expansion. This alliance aims to effectively integrate the legal, industrial, academic and corporate resources to provide comprehensive and professional services for enterprises’ overseas IP expansion. 

Mr. ZHANG Wei, Vice Chairman of Beijing Dongcheng District People’s Political Consultative Conference, expressed his hope that all parties would strengthen cooperation to deepen the integration of public legal services with key industries such as science parks, culture, sports, entertainment and finance, cultivate foreign-related legal professionals, and empower the high-quality development of the economy and society. 

Mr. Jason CHIA, Secretary General of ICDPASO, delivered a keynote speech on international risk prevention and diversified dispute resolution in IP overseas expansion. He pointed out the significance of international risk prevention of IP overseas expansion and introduced the efficient dispute resolution mechanisms, including mediation, arbitration, and other diverse approaches.

Mr. LONG Haitao, President of Dongcheng Lawyers Association,  delivered a speech titled “Joint Efforts for Support Chinese Enterprises’ Trademarks Overseas Expansion”, sharing the strategies for global trademark layout. Ms. QU Huiqing,Vice President of Dongcheng Lawyers Association,  addressed the topic “Legal Challenges and Risk Prevention for Chinese Enterprises Going Global”, outlining the pathways of risk mitigation and dispute resolution in international expansion. Mr. WANG Qun, the second-grade inspector of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice,  emphasized the importance of adhering to the demand-orientated approach, promoting the balanced development of public legal services, and enhancing the level of professionalism.

A number of work achievements were released at the event, providing practical guidelines and valuable experience for enterprises' intellectual property protection work from multiple aspects.
