The 2024 Beijing International Commercial & Legal Event Successfully Held in Beijing

On December 12, 2024, the 2024 Beijing International Commercial & Legal Event was successfully held in Beijing. The event was jointly organized by International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), and Beijing Chamber of International Commerce, with support from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice and the Commercial Legal Service Center of CCPIT. Ms. LI Xiangying, Chairperson of CCPIT Beijing, Ms. SHEN Peilan, Secretary General of ICDPASO and Deputy Director General of the Legal Affairs Department of CCPIT, and Mr. HUANG Jin, President of the Chinese Society of International Law (member of ICDPASO Council) and Chairman of the Beijing International Dispute Resolution Center delivered the opening speeches. 

The event was themed around “Fostering exchanges and cooperation for mutual benefit and integrating law and business for development”. Over 200 guests including government officials, representatives of international organizations, legal service providers from China and abroad, prominent legal scholars, and representatives of Chinese and international companies were invited to attend. It aimed to build an international commercial legal exchange platform, assist Beijing in building a first-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized, contributing to the sustainable development of the global economy.

Mr. LIANG Jingyuan, Level II Bureau Rank Official of Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, Ms. Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), Mr. XUE Feng, Vice President of Beijing Financial Court, Mr. GUO Wei, Chairman of the Beijing Arbitration Commission and President of the Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG), Ms. Sara Marchetta, Chair of the Legal and Competition Working Group of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Mr. ZENG Li, Deputy General Manager, General Legal Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer of Shougang Group Co., Ltd, Ms. XU Na, Head for Trust and Compliance IBM Greater China Group, Mr. Mei Xiangrong, Director of Yingke Law Firm and Chariman of Yingke Global Board of Directors, and Mr. MIAO Yanmin, Senior Consultant of International Trade Compliance Consulting Company and member of Economic and Trade Friction Advisory Committee of CCPIT delivered keynote speeches on-site or in video recording. At the two roundtable dialogue sessions, experts from the practical and theoretical fields discussed and exchanged views on commercial mediation, corporate compliance and other cutting-edge legal issues.
