Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization Held the Second Expert Seminar on the Investment Arbitration Rules(draft)

On 31 October, the Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) held the Second expert seminar on the Investment Arbitration Rules(draft). Attendees included Mr. YU Jinsong, Professor of Law of Renmin University of China Law School, Mr. YI Xianhe, Professor of International Law and Director, Chinese Institute of International Law at China Foreign Affairs University, Mr. Fei Ning, Managing Partner of Hui Zhong Law Firm, Mr. CAO Lijun, Vice Chair, Arbitration and Lawyer Mediation Committee of All China Lawyers Association, Equity Partner of Zhong Lun Law Firm and Mr. WANG Qiang, former General Counsel and now Outside Director of China National Machinery Industry Corporation.

Ms. SHEN Peilan, the Secretary-General of ICDPASO delivered an opening speech. Mr. YAO Junyi, the Senior Advisor of ICDPASO Secretariat gave a brief overview of the drafting and revising work. The experts thoroughly discussed the provisions of the rules, utilizing their professional research and practical experience to propose targeted and constructive suggestions for revisions and amendments formally and professionally, further enhancing the scientific and practical nature of the Rules.

Taking into consideration the suggestions of the experts, the Secretariat will finalize the rules by making further amendments at an early date, as summarized by Ms. SHEN.
