The Fourth Forum of Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District Was Successfully Held

On September 7th-8th, 2024, the Fourth Forum of Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District was successfully convened in Xiamen. This forum was co-hosted by the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organisation (ICDPASO) and the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District (MSRCLD) Leading Group, revolving around the theme “Legal Protection for Reform, Stronger Development Through Openness”.
The opening ceremony was presided over by LUO Dongchuan, Deputy Secretary of Fujian Provincial Committee and Head of the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District (MSRCLD) Leading Group. Addresses were delivered by ZHOU Zuyi, Secretary of Fujian Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial People's Congress, SUN Xiaofang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, WANG Hongxiang, Communist Party Secretary of the Chinese Law Society, WANG Shumei, Permanent Member of China’s Supreme People's Court's Judicial Committee (Vice-Ministerial Level), SHI Weizhong, Permanent Member of the Procuratorial Committee of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (Vice-Ministerial Level), LI Mingzheng, Vice Minister of Justice, YU Jianlong, Vice-president of CCPIT, and the Chairman of ICDPASO.
The main forum centered on three primary topics: the integration of law and business to support enterprises in their “going global” initiatives, collaboration and innovation in international commercial and maritime dispute resolution mechanisms, and enhancing legal service capabilities for the “Belt and Road” initiative. Secretary-General SHEN Peilan presented an insightful sharing on the work carried out by ICDPASO in integrating law and commerce.
