ICDPASO Secretary General Ms. SHEN Peilan Delivered a Video Message at the Closing Session of the Johannesburg Arbitration Week 2024

The Johannesburg Arbitration Week (JAW) 2024 was successfully held in South Africa from 9-11 April 2024. The event was hosted by the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA, ICDPASO Council member) with the support of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) and other institutions. During the sessions, the discussion evolved around the topics such as African Continental Free Trade Area, the Future of Investment Protection in the SADC Region, Technology into the Future, and Integrity in International Arbitration. Ms. SHEN Peilan, Secretary General of the ICDPASO was invited to deliver a video message at the closing session.

MS. SHEN Peilan indicated that the evolving development of technology had brought new opportunities and challenges to international commercial arbitration, and the arbitration’s inherent flexibility will allow it to continuously innovate in response to the needs of parties. ICDPASO looks forward to future collaborations with all parties to promote the development of arbitration and other ADR methods, ensuring access to justice, upholding the rule of law and contributing to sustainable global economy.
