The Third National MIB International Business Negotiation Competition was successfully held

On April 23, 2023, the Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), Department of Legal Affairs of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and China University of Political Science and Law jointly held the third National MIB International Business Negotiation Competition. The competition aimed to improve the theoretical and practical abilities of young students in the field of international business negotiation, and to cultivate high-level business negotiating experts.

A total of 88 teams from 55 universities participated in the competition. After three rounds of expert review, 16 teams were selected for the final round. Through intense competition, China University of Political Science and Law won the grand prize, Renmin University of China and Nanjing Agricultural University won the first prize.

YI Xiaozhun, former Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the former Vice Minister of Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China, ZHAO Zhongxiu, President of the University of International Business and Economics, CHANG Baoguo, Vice President of the China University of Political Science and Law, SHANG Wenjiang, Dean of Business School of China University of Political Science and Law, as well as LIU Chao, Secretary-General of ICDPASO addressed at the closing ceremony.

Secretary-General LIU Chao expressed that international business negotiations are an indispensable part of international economic and trade. Negotiation is not only about academic and competition, it has already play an important role in practice. At present, ICDPASO has properly resolved more than 400 cases through mediation and negotiation, which is an important means of commercial dispute prevention and settlement. ICDPASO is willing to become the new platform for young students to strengthen their business negotiation ability, broaden their international perspective and become interdisciplinary personnel, as well as to further improve the quality and efficiency of the MIB competition.
