The Suspension of Supply Case of Industrial Raw Materials by An East Asia Company

A Chinese company entered into a contract with an East Asia company for the supply of industrial raw materials in light of the previous cooperation projects. After the contract came into effect, the Chinese company paid for the goods and completed part of the performance. However, the East Asia company subsequently addressed a letter stating that it could not continue to execute the contract due to a personnel change of the chairman in the Chinese company (which was unrelated to the contracted project), and also unilaterally stopped supplying, with the unexecuted subject matter amounting to RMB 200 million. The Chinese company has repeatedly issued letters and sought assistance from other agencies but to no avail, and the East Asia company has substantially ceased to execute the contract and refused to respond.
