On December 1, 2022, Datuk Professor Sundra Rajoo, President of Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR), and Dato’ Quek Ngee Meng, Vice President of AIADR, Ms. Heather Yee, Head of AIADR Secretariat held an online video meeting with the Secretariat of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO).
Ms. CUI Tong, staff of ICDPASO Secretariat, briefed the AIADR on the development of the ICDPASO since its establishment two years ago and the progress it has made in providing dispute prevention and resolution services to global business entities. Ms. WEI Qing, Director of the Department of General Affairs of ICDPASO Secretariat, reviewed the cooperation between the two sides and expressed that ICDPASO will accelerate the cooperation in mediator training and other related work, promote the concept of dispute prevention, and jointly build the alternative dispute resolution system.
Datuk Professor Sundra Rajoo, President of AIADR, and Dato’ Quek Ngee Meng, Vice President of AIADR congratulated the ICDPASO on its achievements in the past two years and highly praised the efficient work of ICDPASO. Datuk Professor Sundra Rajoo said that AIADR looks forward to more cooperation with ICDPASO in the areas such as mediator and arbitrator training, talent development, and co-organizing influential conferences and forums, and discussed the vision and expectations of establishing a representative office in Malaysia.
Dr. LIU Chao, Secretary General of ICDPASO, responded positively to Mr. Sundra Rajoo's willingness of cooperation. He said that in the future, ICDPASO will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with AIADR in various aspects such as mediators, arbitrators and high-end forums, and actively explore the construction of layout of ICDPASO in the Asia-Pacific region to better assist the Asia-Pacific region build a law-based, internationalized and facilitated business environment.
