International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization Announcement on the Establishment of the Global Intellectual Property 50

As the world's major economies develop and apply new knowledge and technologies intensified, correspondingly, while intellectual property has become the main means of producing wealth, it has also increasingly turned into the core element of international competitiveness and the focus of international commercial disputes. In order to further improve the prevention and settlement of international intellectual property disputes, the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO) has decided to establish the Global Intellectual Property 50 forum (GIP 50). GIP 50 is committed to bringing together political and business leaders, academic elites and industry bellwethers of global intellectual property to build a bridge of communication for the healthier development of the global intellectual property system. The relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:

Ⅰ Organizational Structure of GIP 50

GIP 50 will be the permanent forum. In order to ensure the independence, professionalism and credibility of the Forum, an Organizing Committee will be established, consisting of the chairman, vice-chairman, secretary-general and members. Appointment system with a term of three years will be applied in the Organizing Committee. The ICDPASO will set up an Intellectual Property Center to assume the functions of the GIP 50 Secretariat.

GIP 50 members implement an application and registration system. Applicants include: individuals, enterprises, and related institutions with no limitation of countries or regions. After the registration is preliminarily screened by the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee, the list of candidates will be announced on the ICDPASO public notice posted on the official website and WeChat account. The candidates will be selected if there is no objection of the public note, and the further review of the ICDPASO Supervisory Committee.

Ⅱ GIP 50 Events

(I) Holding a forum: GIP 50 will hold a forum once a year to conduct in-depth discussions on new trends and developments in global intellectual property;

(II) Supporting activities: In order to deal with the hot issues and concerns of intellectual property, dialogues, seminars, round tables talks and other related activities such as the "Knowledge Wealth Forum" will be irregularly scheduled;

(III) Achievements release: GIP 50 will carry out researches on hot and difficult issues of international intellectual property, and successively release research results including the global intellectual property index report;

(IV) Talent training: Focusing on serving economic globalization, GIP 50 will actively explore and implement intellectual property talent training plans;

(V) Other activities: GIP 50 will carry out relevant activities in due time according to the development situation of the international rule system and the best practice of intellectual property in the globe.

Ⅲ Points for Attention

(I) Applicants should have the basic awareness of promoting global intellectual property exchanges and cooperation and consciously safeguard the reputation of GIP 50;

(II) GIP 50 is committed to building a communication bridge for people from all walks of life, enterprises and institutions in the field of global intellectual property. All the opinions of members only represent themselves;

(III) GIP 50 adheres to inclusiveness, and welcomes interested professionals and institutions to actively participate in the activities;

(IV) GIP 50 is a non-profit permanent forum, and the costs of relevant activities will be jointly negotiated by all participants;

(V) GIP 50 will select host cities and cooperation organizations worldwide for hosting the forum and supporting activities.
