The 2020 China Arbitration Summit Forum was held

On September 22, the 2020 China Arbitration Summit Forum was successfully held. The forum was co-sponsored by the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (hereinafter referred to as CIETAC), the International Investment Dispute Settlement Center (ICSID) under the World Bank, and the All-China Lawyers Association.

Gao Yan, Chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, attended the Opening Ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. Vice Chairperson Yang Wanming of the Supreme People's Court and Minister Assistant  of Ministry of Commerce Li Chenggang were invited to deliver speeches at the Opening Ceremony.

 

Lu Pengqi, Vice Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, presided over the Opening Ceremony of the Forum.To Ms. Anna JOUBIN-BRET, Secretary-General of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (hereinafter referred to as the UNCITRAL), Ms. Meg KINNEAR, Vice President of the World Bank and Secretary-General of the International Investment Dispute Settlement Center, and Ms. Lucy Reed, Chairman of the International Commercial Arbitration Board, heads of three major international organizations in the dispute settlement area jointly attended the China Summit Forum for the first time.

At the forum, 35 heads of international organizations and well-known international arbitration institutions and Chinese and foreign arbitration legal experts from 16 countries and regions,  surrounding the topics of "High-level Dialogue: New Situations and New Challenges in International Dispute Resolution and Overcoming the Difficulties" "International Arbitration Cooperation and Epidemic Response" and "Professional Focus: Online Trial-Innovative Development of Arbitration Practices" and other topics delivered keynote speeches, and made in-depth discussions on challenges, innovation and cooperation in international dispute resolution under the epidemic .
